Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving in Lake Panasoffkee, FL, is seeking a self-motivated team member to help build fence panels and gates in a safety‑driven production environment.

You will work in a team setting, follow safety rules, and demonstrate reliable attendance while learning lumber sizing and production processes. Training and overtime may be required as production demands change.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Good mathematical skills required.
• Willing to work in all weather and overtime.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Manually build fence panels and gates in a team setting.

• Identify and resolve basic production issues in a panel plant.

Safety is #1 at Great Southern. It is very important that the individual can follow all safety rules and regulations. The position we are looking to fill is in our panel manufacturing plant. You will be working in a team environment, manually building fence panels and gates.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Must have good mathematical skills.
• Be willing and able to work in all types of weather environments (cold, hot, rain)
• Must have an excellent attendance record
• Be able to communicate effectively (have a clear command of the English language).
• Be willing to learn and have the ambition to advance when opportunity arises.
• Be able to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for an extended period of time.
• Be a team player.
• Be flexible (Be willing and available to work overtime as needed).
• Be able to follow directions and understand when to ask questions.
• Must be able to identify problems and communicate issues effectively.
• Have the ability learn the different lumber sizes, grades, and treatments.
• Must have the ability to identify the correct end tags required to pull for the production run.
• Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
