Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Fence Installer in the Pittsburgh, PA area to install and remove temporary fencing and security solutions on construction sites. This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring physical work and a commitment to safety and customer service.

You will partner with Lead Fence Technicians and Operations Managers, complete job paperwork, and represent Sunbelt Rentals professionally on site. Training is provided; prior construction or outdoor labor experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Physical stamina for heavy outdoor labor in varying weather and lifting 50–80 lb panels.
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools (drills, power washers, post drivers, banding equipment).
Strong communication, team mindset, and motivation to complete tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

Field Installation: Safely set up, maintain, and dismantle temporary fencing and access control assets at sites across the Pittsburgh area.
Operational Accuracy: Complete essential paperwork (JHAs, site checklists, logs).
Team Leadership & Navigation: Work with Lead Fence Technicians and Ops Managers to reach job sites safely across Allegheny County.
Safety & Standards: Maintain a hazard-free workplace and uphold safety protocols.
Professional Representation: Present the company professionally and provide excellent customer service.

Job Description Summary

As a Fence Installer based in the Pittsburgh, PA area, you'll play a crucial hands-on role in site setup, utilizing power and hand tools to install and remove temporary fencing and construction site security solutions according to job specifications.

As a key representative of Sunbelt Rentals in the field, your focus on safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service will drive our success-even under tight deadlines. This is a physically active, outdoor construction and field labor role where no two days are the same. Complete training will be provided to set you up for success-ideal for candidates with background as a construction laborer, general laborer, fence builder, or outdoor field technician!

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Field Installation: Safely set up, maintain, and dismantle temporary fencing, barricades, and access control assets at customer and construction sites across the greater Pittsburgh area.
Operational Accuracy: Accurately complete essential job paperwork (JHAs, site checklists, truck inventory logs).
Team Leadership & Navigation: Partner with Lead Fence Technicians and Operations Managers to navigate safely and efficiently to job sites throughout Allegheny County and surrounding regions.
Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean, hazard-free workplace while consistently upholding safety protocols.
Professional Representation: Represent the company with a professional appearance, positive attitude, and customer-first mindset.

What You'll Bring (Qualifications & Experience)

Physical Stamina: Comfortable performing heavy outdoor labor in various weather conditions and physically handling panels weighing 50-80 lbs.
Tool & Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with basic hand and power tools (drills, power washers, post drivers, banding equipment).
Work Ethic & Drive: Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the motivation to get the job done right.
Reliable Transportation: Dependable personal transportation to reach our Pittsburgh branch and job sites daily.
Bonus Qualifications (A Huge Plus!): Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record capable of passing a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) check (not required, but strongly preferred!).
Experience operating a forklift, one-ton truck, or working in general construction, landscaping, or outdoor trades.

Base Pay Range: $18.99 - 27.30
