Job summary

Alsco Uniforms is hiring for a Feeder/Folder to support our production line. The role involves grasping, sorting, grading clean textiles, folding by hand, and feeding into ironers or folding machines to finish products.

You will work in a non-exempt, fast-paced laundry facility, following safety guidelines and production instructions while maintaining quality and efficiency. Training provided and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Recognize colors and sizes and sort accurately.
• Inspect and grade products per quality standards.
• Follow written packing instructions and directions.
• Maintain neat and safe work area and meet throughput targets.

Responsibilities

• Grasp textiles from carts, sort, inspect, and grade.
• Fold, assemble, and package textiles by hand.
• Feed textiles into ironers or folding machines.
• Place finished goods on conveyors or into carts.
• Move carts/bins within the production area.
• Adhere to safety standards and supervisor instructions.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.

Essential Functions

• Grasp textiles from a cart/bin then sort, inspect, and grade according to quality standards.


• Fold, assemble, and package by hand different types and sizes of textiles.


• Feed different types and sizes of textiles into ironers or folding machines.


• Place finished product onto conveyors or into carts, and dump slings of product onto work tables.


• Move loaded or empty carts/bins within the production area.


• Process textiles according to type and written packing instructions.


• Continuously meet efficiency and safety standards for the position.


• Follow instructions as directed by supervision.


• Keep the work area neat and clean.

Additional Functions

• Work in other production positions as needed.

Qualifications

• Recognize colors and sizes, count and sort accurately.


• Recognize, inspect, and grade products.


• Comprehend and follow written packing instructions.


• Comprehend and follow directions.

Typical Physical Activity

• Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting up to 25 lbs., and stooping.


• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.

Typical Environmental Conditions

• Production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility include variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust.
