Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Wakefield, Nebraska is known as the Baseball Capital of Nebraska. Milton G. Waldbaum and Dan Gardner founded our egg-processing business in 1950 here in Wakefield. The facility raises chickens and produces tankers of liquid egg for our processing plants.
Responsibilities
- Deliver, mix, and manage feed for the farms, ensuring correct rations and proper storage.
- Mix feed rations according to instructions from the mill manager.
- Assign feed orders and deliveries to the proper bin locations.
- Manage feed ingredients, ensuring they are assigned to proper bins.
- Observe the mill for proper operations, maintaining trucks and tractors.
- Perform minor to major repairs on equipment as needed.
- Keep the mill and office areas clean.
- Maintain accurate inventory and records.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow SOPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure product quality.
- Travel to and work at multiple locations.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Class A CDL license.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before various audiences.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and apply basic algebra concepts.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret extensive technical instructions.
Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
- Strong math skills.
- Valid NE CDL Class A license.
- Ability to meet the company’s DOT written program requirements.
- Understanding and following written and oral instructions.
- Good mechanical ability.
- No breathing disorders; facility may be dusty.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders and climb to 80‑foot height.
- Ability to safely lift 100 lbs occasionally.
Ability to work outside environment for long periods of time.
