CHS Inc. is seeking a Fill Mill Operations Specialist in Dickinson, ND. This role alternates between Agronomy and Animal Nutrition duties, roughly six months each, focusing on fertilizer handling and feed production, packaging, and warehousing.

You will perform diverse tasks, work with team members, and support production and inventory goals. The job requires physical stamina to lift heavy bags, operate forklifts and loaders, and adapt to peak seasonal demands.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture, or general labor environments.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Animal Nutrition production processes, including bagging, pelleting, packing, mixing, control room operations, loading dock activities, and warehouse functions.
• Load, unload, and stage finished feed products and raw materials throughout production and warehouse areas.
• Operate forklift, loaders, conveyors, and other equipment to move materials.
• Conduct light preventative maintenance on equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment with general housekeeping and sanitation duties.

Summary Looking for a hands-on role that offers variety throughout the year? If so, CHS has an exciting opportunity as an Fill Mill Operations Specialist at our Dickinson, ND location. This position is a dual-function role supporting both Agronomy and Animal Nutrition operations. Approximately six months of the year will be spent working in Agronomy, focusing on fertilizer handling, chemical warehouse operations, and equipment use, while the other six months will be dedicated to Animal Nutrition, supporting feed production, packaging, warehousing, and loading activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, diverse responsibilities, and being part of two essential areas of the business.

Responsibilities

• Support Animal Nutrition production processes, including bagging, pelleting, packing, mixing, control room operations, loading dock activities, and warehouse functions.
• Load, unload, and stage finished feed products and raw materials throughout production and warehouse areas.
• Repeatedly lift, carry, stack, and move feed bags weighing approximately 55-75 pounds.
• Perform warehouse operations, including operating forklifts, organizing inventory, and accurately pulling and staging products.
• Operate payloader equipment to move, handle, and manage dry fertilizer materials.
• Conduct light preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery to support safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by performing general housekeeping and sanitation duties.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while operating equipment and performing daily tasks.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production, inventory, and customer service goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• 1+ years of experience in operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture, or general labor environments.
• Must meet minimum age requirement.

Additional Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Agriculture experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
• CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and in hazardous environments.
• Ability to spend long periods of time being on your feet including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders, and work at heights up to 120 ft.
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear all required protective equipment which may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection.
• Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment.
• Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Ability to work in noisy ,dusty, and all weather conditions.
