Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Texas is seeking a shift worker to mix micro ingredients, route feed, and support production. The role emphasizes attention to formulas, batching, and safety compliance with FSMA, GMP, and quality checks.

You will operate batching and routing equipment, perform routine maintenance, and keep logs neat. Evening shift Monday through Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm, with on-the-job training and benefits from day one at Wayne-Sanderson Farms.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Mix and route feed according to formulas using batching and routing equipment.
• Coordinate batching schedule with production personnel to maximize efficiency.
• Complete and maintain reports, logs, and documents neatly.
• Monitor and adjust equipment as needed to ensure quality.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Report malfunctions and comply with FSMA, GMP and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SHIFT DETAILS

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for mixing micro ingredients per the specified formulas and staging them in a neat and orderly manner. In addition, will perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on ingredients. Also responsible for preventing theft or loss of product ensuring trucks leave empty. Responsible for compliance with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Mix and route feed according to formulas, procedures and schedule utilizing batching controller, mixing equipment, routing equipment, destination bins and downstream operations. Communicate and coordinate batching schedule and production with appropriate personnel maximizing efficiency while following FDA, GMP and QC procedures. Accurately complete and maintain assigned reports, logs and documents in a neat and orderly manner. Monitor and adjust equipment accordingly. Use proper operating parameters and equipment settings to effectively deliver a high quality product. Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Communicate equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Perform routine housekeeping ensuring designated areas are kept clean. Comply with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal laws, and regulations. Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e. proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.). Possess basic computer knowledge and usage abilities. Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate. Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate. Ability to communicate effectively, and read and write legibly. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous feed mill experience.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours. Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend. Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders. Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs. Ability to work in confined spaces. Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments. Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft.
