Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Gaylord, Minnesota, is seeking a Truck Driver to haul feed from the mill to customer locations and assist the mill as needed.

This role includes performing routine truck and equipment maintenance and documentation to meet DOT requirements. You will drive, load, and deliver to specified sites, maintain safety, GMPs, and food safety standards, and support maintenance activities when not driving.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with no more than two moving violations in five years.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drive feed truck, load, haul, and deliver to correct locations.
• Complete required DOT documentation and daily vehicle inspections.
• Assist maintenance with daily equipment upkeep when not driving.
• Keep truck cabs and trailers clean; report damages promptly.
• Follow GMPs and food safety practices; uphold sanitation standards.
• Adhere to biosecurity measures and report concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.

Position Summary

The purpose of the Driver is to haul feed from the mill to the houses. Assist the mill when needed. Perform truck and mill maintenance when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for.
• Drive feed truck, load, haul, and deliver to the correct locations.
• Responsible for completing all required documentation to ensure DOT compliance. Complete daily equipment inspection before use each day.
• Assist the Maintenance department with daily maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of all feed handling equipment when not driving. Assistance is to be provided to the mill with maintenance as needed. Also do basic maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Driver is required to regularly clean their truck cabs and trailers as needed in the appropriate truck cleaning areas.
• Any damages or need for repairs are to be brought to the attention of Lead/Mill Supervisor immediately.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Follow directions for biosecurity and bird disease prevention.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Required

• Driver’s license Class A CDL * Driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the last five years.

Preferred Education, Experience And Skills

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.

The pay range for this position is $23.97 to $29.58 per hour.
