Job summary

Route Elite in Chicago, IL is hiring immediate full-time FedEx Delivery drivers to handle local residential and business deliveries using box trucks and stepvans. Class C license preferred, but not required; you must be reliable, pass background checks, and maintain safe driving records.

The role includes daily routes with about 150 stops, strict adherence to safety, and strong customer service. Training is provided; weekends and December shifts are expected, with competitive pay and benefits

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Have minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience within last three years.
• Pass a drug test (drugs including marijuana) with random testing.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs and up to 150 lbs with hand truck.
• Pass background check and have reliable transportation.
• Be punctual and ready to work; able to climb stairs and work in all weather.
• FedEx or Amazon delivery driving experience is a plus; live within 45 minutes of the station.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle safely at all times.
• Deliver and pick up packages to businesses and residences; expect around 150 stops per day.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and load the vehicle.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with management.
• Accurately use scanners and track delivery progress.
• Ensure proper disposition of packages and timely route completion.
• Weekend shifts available; December weekends required.

We are looking to hireregular full time FedEx Delivery driverswith work related driving experience and a strong work ethic to make local residential and business deliveries.(Class C Driver's License preferred!)

We are looking for people who have been Local Drivers, Route Drivers, Truck Drivers, Couriers, Pick Up Drivers, Delivery drivers - and if you have driven for UPS, Amazon, previous FedEx companies, DHL, Wal-Mart, Uber, Lyft or any other similar companies that is a plus; and we have a job waiting for you as we are hiring urgently and immediately

Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
• Have a minimum of 1 Year of commercial driving experience within last three years.
• Pass a drug test (includes marijuana) with continued random drug screens throughout employment
• Pass a DOT physical
• Be able to safely lift/carry up to 75 lbs. and up to 150 lbs. with hand truck
• Pass FedEx Ground criminal background check
• Have reliable transportation to and from work
• Be on time and ready to work each work day
• Be able to climb stairs
• Be able to work in all types of weather
• Have a strong work ethic and get it done attitude
• Prior FedEx or Amazon Delivery Driver Experience and experience driving with larger vehicles (Box trucks, stepvans, p1000s) is a plus but not required.
• Must have a reliable transportation to/from work and live w/n 45 minute commute from the station

Daily Duties include but not limited to:

• Your vehicle must be operated safely at all times
• Delivery and pick up of packages to businesses and residences. Routes vary in number of pick-ups and deliveries, but expectations are a driver will routinely perform around 150 stops a day
• Perform daily inspection of vehicle including checking fluid levels
• Loading vehicle for deliveries and organizing daily loads
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain appropriate communication with manager
• Accurately operate scanner/effectively track delivery process
• Accurate disposition of package delivery and pickups is a must and critical to our integrity.
• Consistently deliver entire route in a timely manner
• Shifts available all 7 days. Weekends shifts are expected during December

Pay and Benefits:

• If current driver w/ active Fedex Badge and experience, starting pay is $250/day + stop bonuses. If no experience, training rate is $170/day with progression to $250/day + bonuses

Paid training will be provided that covers delivery/route procedures, standard equipment operations, customer service skills, and driver safety.
