Job summary

University of West Georgia is seeking dependable and enthusiastic UWG students to tutor in the America Reads/America Counts Federal Work-Study program. Tutors will help elementary and/or middle school children improve reading and math skills under supervision.

Assignments include working with Sharp Creek Elementary, Carrollton City Schools, and Carrollton Middle School during traditional school hours or after-school; reliability and a valid Federal Work-Study eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at UWG with minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours.
• Must have reliable transportation to assigned school.
• Available to work during traditional school day or after-school hours.
• Must pass a background check.
• Eligible for Federal Work-Study through UWG.

Responsibilities

• Tutor children in reading and/or math under supervision.
• Work with elementary and/or middle school students during the school day or after school.
• Assist in implementing ARAC tutoring activities at partner schools.
