Job Summary

Dr. Lammle is actively seeking students who are immediately available to work on ongoing neuroradiology research projects in his lab. The projects involve retrospective and clinical research in collaboration with departments such as neurosurgery, computer science, bioinformatics, and epidemiology. The focus is on comparing imaging modalities for evaluating Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) using image analysis and computer vision methods.

This collaborative project requires assembling a retrospective research cohort of SUNY Upstate patients diagnosed with TBI monitored between 2013-2023. Students should be enrolled in a graduate Medical, Health Sciences, or Public Health program. Responsibilities include performing chart reviews and extracting clinical data from electronic medical records (EMR) systems like EPIC and Co-Path. The position offers exposure to advanced retrospective and clinical research, under the mentorship of Dr. Lammle, principal investigator in the Department of Neuroradiology.

The job requires a part-time commitment, to be discussed with the mentor. Essential skills include patient chart review, understanding of neuroradiology, data management with SAS and RStudio, and data analysis and presentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment at Upstate Medical University and approval for Federal Work Study through the Student Financial Aid Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge in patient chart review, neuroradiology, data curation, and analysis tools.
