Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, government, economics, business, finance, law, or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in public policy, government, advocacy, nonprofit organizations, or think tanks.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills for congressional and public audiences.
  • Strong quantitative skills analyzing data from government and non-government sources.
  • Record of publishing original research and policy analysis on tax and fiscal issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing coalitions across ideologically diverse organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the federal tax policy portfolio and set research priorities.
  • Produce high-impact analytical publications—briefs, explainers, reports, testimony.
  • Represent tax policy priorities at events, roundtables, and media.
  • Engage congressional staff across parties to advance policy recommendations.
  • Build diverse coalitions on tax policy and related issues.
  • Develop data visualizations to aid understanding of fiscal trends.
  • Collaborate across policy programs to align tax recommendations.
  • Mentor junior staff and manage staff supporting the portfolio.
