Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience which includes 1) the protection of property for a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization against hazards such as fire, theft, accident, or trespass; 2) Maintaining order and protecting life; 3) Controlling access of vehicles, visitors and/or pedestrians into a facility or area.

Responsibilities

• The incumbent serves as a Security Guard assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
• This position functions as the first layer of defense in a security-in-depth concept to deter, detect, delay, assess, respond, and document unauthorized access to Army installations restricted to the general public.
• Guards are responsible for preserving the life, health and safety of government personnel and safeguarding Army property, and technologies against such threats.
• Guards determine fitness and grant access to those individuals that have met screening requirements and demonstrated a need to access the installation.
