Job summary
The United States Attorneys' Offices in the Northern District of Texas is seeking a qualified Assistant United States Attorney in Lubbock to join a federal prosecution team. You will collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement to advance investigations and prosecutions, and to advise on questions of law and policy. You will draft pleadings, handle research, and be prepared to try cases in federal court, including asset forfeiture matters.
The position requires a J.D. degree, U.S.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree required and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- Must reside in the district or within 25 miles; select service compliance.
- U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain federal background clearance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with federal, state, and local law enforcement to manage investigations and prosecutions.
- Advise federal agents on questions of law and Departmental policy.
- Recommend charging decisions and dispositions for assigned cases.
- Research and draft pleadings and be prepared to try cases in federal court.
- Investigate and pursue asset forfeiture related to prosecutions.
- Oversee and coordinate litigation assignments for legal support staff.
