Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Federal Project Manager to lead a high-impact, nationwide modernization program. The role requires onsite weekly visits to the DC area, with regional travel up to 50%.

You will report to the PMO Lead and coordinate with PMs, engineers, and service technicians across lifecycle phases. The position offers career growth, a flexible work model with travel to customer locations and PMO sites, and exposure to complex federal contracting and large-scale systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of project/program management experience, or 5+ years of project/program management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Direct PMO support: assist the Lead PM with creating and managing task lists, action item registries, and meeting minutes.
  • Documentation & governance: collaborate to develop Statements of Work (SOW), RACI matrices, and staffing requirement plans.
  • Integrated scheduling: contribute to the development and execution of the total program schedule.
  • Work breakdown: assist in creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned to contract scope and program goals.
  • Lifecycle management: support concurrent design and deployment contracts at various stages, coordinating distributed teams of PMs, engineers, and service technicians.
  • Strategic alignment: bridge technical execution and corporate strategy to align with sales goals and customer relationships management.
  • Stakeholder synergy: maintain relationships with the Lead PM, Lead Program Engineer, Technical Service Manager, and Customer Service Manager (CSM).

Job Description

Location: MD or surrounding states (within driving distance of Washington, DC). Onsite Requirement: Weekly visits to the DC office.

Travel: Mostly regional, 25–50%.

Role Overview: We are seeking a Federal Project Manager dedicated to a high-impact, multi-year nationwide modernization program. The role encompasses the full project lifecycle, supporting both active implementation phases and ongoing multi-year maintenance contracts.

Reporting: As a key member of the Program Management Office (PMO), you will report to the Lead PM, providing mission-critical support to ensure program-wide alignment, schedule adherence, and operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities
  • Program Operations & Administration
    • Direct PMO support: assist the Lead PM with creating and managing task lists, action item registries, and meeting minutes.
    • Documentation & governance: collaborate to develop Statements of Work (SOW), RACI matrices, and staffing requirement plans.
    • Integrated scheduling: contribute to the development and execution of the total program schedule.
    • Work breakdown: assist in creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned to contract scope and program goals.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Lifecycle management: support concurrent design and deployment contracts at various stages, coordinating distributed teams of PMs, engineers, and service technicians.
    • Strategic alignment: bridge technical execution and corporate strategy to align with sales goals and customer relationships management.
    • Stakeholder synergy: maintain relationships with the Lead PM, Lead Program Engineer, Technical Service Manager, and Customer Service Manager (CSM).
  • Partner & Subcontractor Oversight
    • Scope management: assist in managing subcontractor and partner work scopes.
    • Performance monitoring: contribute to subcontract development and ongoing performance management to ensure third-party compliance with program standards.

Target Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000 USD

Pay transparency and equity information: pay within this range varies based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of project/program management or related experience, or 5+ years of project/program management or related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel requirements: Under 10%.
