Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Program Manager for this opportunity to oversee the long-term management and growth of our Federal portfolio in the Pacific Northwest.

The selected candidate will take over an existing portfolio of large capacity multi-year contracts, work with business line leadership to develop and lead a dedicated project management team, oversee multiple project task orders from an executive level, develop and track pipeline and oversee compliance with regulatory and company

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience managing projects or programs
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to nature of work
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Drug testing will be required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee federal projects and programs, preferably for USACE, NAVFAC, the Air Force, or other Federal Agencies
  • Build and lead program management teams
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and General Contractors
  • Direct professional and technical staff to complete complex projects
  • Achieve contractual performance and financial milestones across multiyear contracts
  • Provide direction to staff and subcontractors

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Program Manager for this exciting opportunity to oversee the long-term management and growth of our Federal portfolio in the Pacific Northwest. The selected candidate will take over an existing portfolio of large capacity multi-year contracts, work with business line leadership to develop and lead a dedicated project management team, oversee multiple project task orders from an executive level, develop and track pipeline and oversee compliance with regulatory and company standards, regulations, and quality assurance programs. This position may be located out of Seattle, Portland or Anchorage offices.

Required responsibilities for the Federal Program Manager include a proven track record of:

  • Managing and leading federal projects and programs, ideally for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), the U.S. Air Force, or other Federal Agencies.
  • Experience building and leading successful program management teams.
  • Close successful collaboration with other Architecture, Engineering, and General Contractors.
  • Managing and directing professional and technical staff to complete complex architectural and engineering projects.
  • Achieving contractual performance and financial milestones across the lifespan of multiyear / multitask order contracts.
  • Manages aspects of a program such as oversight of project managers, oversight of project controls or similar.
  • Provides direction and oversight to AECOM staff and subcontractors.
  • Generally has task and project management experience, including successful completion of several large projects.

Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
  • Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
  • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to internal regional and Buildings + Places management
  • Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
  • Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
  • Business development responsibilities including development of pipeline, arranging teaming partnerships, building strategic growth plans, and developing client engagement plans
  • Oversee and develop technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
  • Prepare, coordinate and conduct project meetings: Prepare and maintain the agenda and the meeting minutes
  • Help develop and maintain project schedule, project budget and risk register
  • Review Design Documents and Coordinate Design reviews with various stakeholders
  • Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar.
  • Increasing responsibility for leadership of direct reports.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Architecture or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience managing projects or programs or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • Drug testing will be required for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of related experience
  • Licensed PE or RA
  • Familiarity with DoD and Federal-Civilian agencies, installations, missions, and cultures
  • Existing relationship with Federal clients in the PNW Region
  • Experience with Design-Build delivery and partnering with General Contractors
  • Graduate Degree in an Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management field
  • Ability to work in Fast-paced environment and Coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate at a high level with senior leaders within AECOM and/or the client's organization
