Quinnipiac University School of Law invites applications for the Pro Se Prisoner Attorney for the Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Program. The attorney will provide legal information and guidance to incarcerated self-represented litigants with civil cases filed in the U.S.

District Court for the District of Connecticut and help litigants navigate federal procedures. The role includes explaining court rules, assisting with pleadings, developing resources, supervising law students, and

Qualifications

Juris Doctor required and CT bar admission or eligibility.
Prior federal clerkship experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal civil procedure and federal court practice.

Responsabilités

Provide legal information, guidance, and assistance to incarcerated self-represented litigants.
Explain jurisdiction, venue, exhaustion of administrative remedies, and applicable court rules.
Assist litigants with pleadings and responses to court orders.
Develop forms, instructional materials, and resources for navigating federal litigation.
Supervise law student interns and externs.
Coordinate with court personnel, law school staff, and community partners.
Contribute to program assessment, data collection, and ongoing development of the Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Program.
