Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in San Diego, CA is seeking a Federal Employee to perform building upkeep including painting, carpentry, electrical, and general maintenance tasks. You will support NHG and other facilities with preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires one year of general maintenance experience and may involve working inside or outside with exposure to dust.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in general maintenance involving upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, etc.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor carpentry tasks such as doors, windows, furniture, cabinets, platforms, bins, pallets.
• Inspects and ensures proper working condition of equipment, machinery, and facilities.
• Prepares surfaces and paints interior items like shelves and counters.
• Assists in installation/repair of broken pipes, leaky faucets, clogged drains.
• Performs electrical repairs to appliances, light fixtures, or switches.
• Conducts preventive maintenance on equipment like fans, air conditioners, and other appliances.
