Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a Technical Writer to develop, edit, and maintain user-focused documentation for enterprise IT operations in a federally regulated environment. You will translate complex systems information for technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring compliance with US government standards.

Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, ITSM leaders, and ITIL practitioners to produce clear guides, SOPs, workflows, and online help

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0-3 years of progressively responsible experience in technical writing or related roles.
• Ability to convey complex technical information clearly for varied audiences.
• Experience with documentation tools (word processing, PDF, help-authoring).
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and attention to detail with version control.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced IT environment.
• Active or obtainable SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship, with travel under 10%.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex technical and security-relevant information into user guides and reference materials.
• Gather, analyze, and validate information from engineers, analysts, and ITSM leaders.
• Apply structured writing principles and style guides to create cohesive content.
• Produce content in web-based, printable, and training formats.
• Apply plain-language, accessibility, and federal guidelines.
• Coordinate review cycles and manage version control for auditable change history.
• Collaborate with agile and DevOps teams to update docs with system releases.
• Support documentation for enterprise IT services including cloud and cybersecurity.
• Align documentation with ITIL-based service management practices.
