Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Financial Investigator to support a large federal agency, conducting comprehensive investigations, compiling reports, and presenting evidence for litigation. The role emphasizes analytical rigor, documentation, and collaboration with legal teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive investigative experience, familiarity with financial records, and the ability to work with electronic databases to identify assets and pertinent information.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years experience in planning and conducting civil or criminal complex investigations.
• Working knowledge of current investigative techniques including the use of commercial databases and other sources of information.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts investigations.
• Prepares interim and final investigation reports.
• Prepares affidavits and testifies in court as required.
• Uses electronic databases to identify assets and documents.
• Assists in compilation and analysis of documents and evidence for motions and trial.
• Advises on planning, scheduling, and conducting investigations.
• Examines books, ledgers, payroll records, cost reports, billing statements, invoices, correspondence, computer data, and other records pertaining to the transactions under investigation.
