Job summary

Zekai is seeking a Federal Grants Management Specialist for a 100% remote contract role. You will draft NOFOs, review and score grant applications, and prepare monitoring findings, applying your deep knowledge of federal grants, compliance, and eligibility requirements.

This is a global position open to applicants in countries the employer accepts as part of a remote, contract-based engagement. You will annotate grant documents to create high-quality AI training materials and evaluate AI outputs

Job description

Role Title: Federal Grants Management Specialist

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

our partner is engaging Federal Grants Management Specialists to support an important customer project requiring domain expertise in federal grants and compliance. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.

Scope of Work

• Draft federal funding announcements and Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs), defining program objectives, eligibility requirements, application instructions, and evaluation criteria.
• Review and score federal grant applications, assessing eligibility, project merit, budget justifications, and alignment with funding requirements.
• Prepare formal grant monitoring findings, identifying compliance deficiencies, supporting evidence, applicable regulations, and recommended corrective actions.
• Review and annotate grant applications, award documents, budgets, and compliance reports to develop high-quality AI training materials.
• Evaluate AI-generated grants management outputs for regulatory accuracy, procedural correctness, and adherence to federal requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance).
• Develop realistic grant management scenarios, reference answers, and evaluations covering pre-award, award, and post-award processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in federal grants management, particularly in GS-1109 positions or equivalent federal, state, or local government grant administration roles.
• Hands-on experience drafting funding notices, reviewing and scoring applications, and documenting monitoring or audit findings.
• Strong knowledge of federal grants processes, compliance standards, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and technical accuracy.
• Commitment to customer service and effective collaboration in a remote environment.
• Prior experience with AI training, model evaluation, or content review is a plus.
