Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights and safeguard the nation’s transportation system. These roles require discretion, judgment, physical readiness, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.

Appointment is full-time with irregular schedules and extensive travel. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements including citizenship, age, background, and firearms proficiency for federal law enforcement duties.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency required for federal duties.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
