Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Consultant/Managing Consultant to lead and manage workstreams, delivering high-quality federal financial reporting deliverables while maintaining strong client-facing execution.

You will coordinate with client finance, accounting, and program stakeholders, applying federal financial management concepts and ensuring audit readiness. Travel up to 10% and ability to obtain public trust clearance are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit readiness, or related field.
  • Experience with federal agencies, government contractors, or public-sector environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal financial reporting, reconciliations, internal controls, and year-end close.
  • Consulting experience with federal CFO organizations, Treasury reporting, GTAS, DATA Act, or OMB A-136 reporting activities.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into concise client-facing recommendations.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with financial systems or BI tools.
  • Ability to meet federal client suitability and obtain required clearances.

  • Develop workpapers, issue logs, status updates, and executive-ready materials explaining findings and recommendations.
  • Coach analysts or consultants on workstream tasks, quality expectations, and client communication norms.
  • Support proposal, account planning, or capability-building efforts related to federal financial management.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related discipline.
  • Three(3) to Five(5) or more years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit readiness, financial management consulting, or a closely related field.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies, government contractors, or public-sector financial management environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal financial reporting and federal budgetary reporting concepts, reconciliations, internal controls, and year-end close activities.
  • Prior consulting experience with federal CFO organizations, financial statement audit support, Treasury reporting, GTAS, DATA Act, or OMB A-136 reporting activities.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and translate technical findings into concise client-facing recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience using financial systems or business intelligence tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to meet federal client suitability, access, or clearance requirements where applicable.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain MBI clearance.
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • CPA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience supervising junior team members and coordinating deliverables across cross-functional teams.
