Job summary

Amazon is seeking a policy leader in Arlington, VA to shape federal energy policy and engage directly with policymakers, regulators, and grid operators. You will develop strategies around FERC proceedings, wholesale electricity markets, and energy infrastructure priorities to support carbon-free energy procurement and data center power supply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 8+ years of direct work with government officials and regulatory bodies.
• 8+ years of public policy development and implementation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute advocacy strategies focusing on federal energy policy, FERC, and wholesale electricity markets.
• Monitor and influence FERC proceedings and related rulemakings impactful to large electricity customers.
• Engage with FERC Commissioners and policymakers, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support policy submissions before FERC including comments, information requests, and interventions.
• Support Congressional and Administration outreach on energy market, grid reliability, and infrastructure policy.
