Job summary

REI Systems is seeking a Business Analyst to support the DHS ODOS program in Sterling, VA. You will collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, software engineers, QA, and the Agile delivery team to translate requirements into actionable user stories and support modernization of mission-critical applications.

The ideal candidate has experience with federal technology programs, Agile development, and translating complex business needs into clear functional requirements for technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong analytical skills.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Experience developing user stories and acceptance criteria in Agile.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Collaboration with software developers, QA, product owners, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with DHS stakeholders to gather, analyze, document, and validate requirements.
• Translate needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, flows, use cases, and functional specs.
• Facilitate requirements sessions, interviews, and backlog refinement.
• Work with Java/React teams through the software development lifecycle.
• Support product owners with backlog development, prioritization, and sprint planning.
• Analyze current processes and identify modernization opportunities.
• Document workflows, business rules, and system interactions.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and assist with UAT and release readiness.
