The incumbent will work with senior staff to ensure timely obligations and compliance, with responsibilities expanding as training progresses. This is a full-time federal position located in the EOUSA environment.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service or
• a Ph.D. or three full years of graduate education in a related field (e.g. Accounting, Financial Management, Public Administration, Business Administration); or a combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct budget administration with senior management to support effectiveness.
• Perform routine budget administration and financial management duties for budgeting, internal controls, accounting and reporting.
• Provide a wide variety of budgetary reports covering funds, expenses and obligations.
• Monitor and track obligations and expenditures for the office.
• Verify obligations and expenditures occur on a timely basis per controls.
• Gather, extract, review, verify and consolidate narrative and statistical data for budget operations and reporting.
• Prepare and evaluate budget justifications and requests.
• Compare current funding estimates with prior year expenditures and flag significant variations.
