Job summary

McConnell Jones is seeking an Audit Experienced Staff to join our Washington, DC area team. The role requires 1–3 years of federal agency financial statement audit experience and a current Secret Clearance. You will perform detailed audit procedures, research accounting issues, and contribute to planning and staff development.

The position offers hybrid/remote work options with local travel to client sites, and a supportive culture focused on growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and pursuing CPA with eligible accounting credits.
• 1–3 years of public accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAS, GAGAS/Yellow Book or GAAP.
• Proficiency with computer accounting software.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• CPA license or progress toward license.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed audit procedures on financial statement balances and prepare work papers.
• Research accounting issues and discuss with supervision.
• Assist with engagement planning and supervision of staff.
• Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements under supervision.
• Participate in performance evaluations and adhere to security practices.
