Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect flights and passenger safety. You will operate on domestic and international routes, assess threats, and act with discretion in high-pressure settings.

The role requires meeting eligibility criteria, including citizenship, background clearance, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Expect irregular hours, on-call duties, and potential travel commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience or education demonstrating problem-solving and communication.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience may suffice.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain required firearms proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
• Identify and interview witnesses or suspects when required.
• Make arrests and seek or execute warrants within legal authority.
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local partners.
• Support ground-based transportation-security and counterterrorism missions.
