Job summary

Transportation Security Administration seeks Federal Air Marshals for opportunities based in Mount Sterling, IL. These highly trained officers protect commercial flights, operate on air and ground assignments, and travel frequently under demanding conditions.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 21, eligible for Top Secret clearance, and able to pass a full background investigation, drug screening, medical evaluation, and polygraph.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency for federal duties
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities
• Identify and interview witnesses or suspects as required
• Make arrests and seek/execute warrants within legal authority
• Coordinate with multi-agency partners on security operations
