Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is seeking Federal Air Marshals who protect commercial aviation by maintaining vigilance on flights and at transport hubs. The role requires discretion, physical readiness, firearms proficiency, and strong judgment, with assignments often on short notice and travel across domestic and international routes.

Applicants must meet rigorous eligibility criteria including citizenship, age, background checks, and security clearances; education and experience

Qualifications

• Three years progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial flights from terrorism, aircraft piracy and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Conduct investigations, analysis and advisory activities
• Identify witnesses or suspects when required
• Make arrests and execute warrants within authority
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local partners
• Support ground-based security and counterterrorism missions
• Perform other specialized assignments including Counter-UAS operations
