Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration seeks Federal Air Marshals for full-time roles headquartered around field offices with duty locations on domestic and international flights. Selected candidates must protect commercial flights, conduct investigations, and coordinate with federal, state, and local partners.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, meet eligibility standards, and complete rigorous training and background checks to obtain and maintain security clearances and firearms proficiency.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience that demonstrates problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience and transcripts if education is used to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other criminal threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond to potential threats with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency for federal duties.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
• Identify and interview witnesses or suspects when required.
