Job summary

MinIO invites a Federal Field Architect to bridge our data platform with DoW, IC, and civilian agency needs, shaping architectures for on-prem, air-gapped, and sovereign cloud deployments. You will drive PoVs, reference designs, and solutions with and through our partners, ensuring scalable AI data infrastructure.

The role emphasizes security clearance, deep storage and Kubernetes expertise, and cross‑team collaboration with engineering, sales, and partners to deliver trusted value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years in a solutions architect, sales engineering, or field engineering role, preferably within cloud, storage, or federal systems integration.
  • Active security clearance strongly preferred; ability to obtain a clearance required.
  • Deep technical knowledge of object storage (S3-compatible platforms), Kubernetes, and cloud-native/on-prem hybrid architectures.
  • Familiarity with GPU-accelerated infrastructure and the data/memory demands of AI training and inference workloads at scale.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FIPS 140-3, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP) and DoW/IC deployment environments (air-gapped, classified, DDIL).
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to communicate complex architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working through or alongside channel partners, FSIs, and technology ecosystem partners (e.g., NVIDIA, Databricks) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Architect AIStor deployments for federal customers, spanning on-prem, air-gapped, sovereign cloud, and tactical edge environments, including erasure coding, tiering, and replication topology design.
  • Serve as the technical authority on compliance standards and translate requirements into deployable architecture for agency customers.
  • Lead proof-of-value activities, technical demonstrations, and reference architecture designs for federal opportunities, in direct customer and partner engagements.
  • Provide technical training and architecture guidance to federal resellers and system integrators to ensure confident deployments.
  • Collaborate on joint architectures with ecosystem partners (e.g., NVIDIA, Databricks) for co-sell motions.
  • Guide customers on deploying AIStor across Kubernetes distributions (OpenShift, Rancher) in federal environments.
  • Architect data infrastructure for AI training and large-scale data lake workloads to maximize GPU utilization and minimize recompute overhead.
  • Advise on inference architecture and memory strategies for agentic AI workloads, ensuring secure, scalable deployments.
