Job summary

DFAS in the United States is seeking an accounting professional to provide services across multiple DoD and federal agencies. You will perform technical accounting tasks for diverse accounts and transactions, and resolve discrepancies between subsidiary ledgers and general ledgers as part of daily duties.

You will respond to questions from customers or technicians, and ensure accuracy, propriety, and legality of transactions through thorough document review and analysis.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the federal service.
• Ability to examine, verify and maintain accounting data and records.
• Capable of researching discrepancies and making adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and finance services to dispersed customers including DoD and federal agencies.
• Perform technical accounting work across accounts and transaction types.
• Research and adjust discrepancies between subsidiary and general ledgers.
• Respond to routine and non-routine questions about accounting data and procedures.
• Ensure accuracy, propriety, and legality of accounting transactions via document review.
