Job summary

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) seeks qualified accounting professionals for entry grade GS-11 with a target GS-12. A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting is required, or an equivalent combination including 24 hours in accounting/auditing.

One year of specialized experience at GS-09/GS-11 levels is described; the DHA authority applies. The DoD FM Certification must be obtained within two years.

Qualifications

• Completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours in business law).
• 4 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training with 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing (may include up to 6 hours of business law), or CPA/CIA certification.
• Specialized experience equivalents at GS-11 and GS-12 levels are defined as providing professional accounting services and applying accounting concepts to day-to-day operations.
