The Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Roanoke, VA is seeking an Accountant to perform full–range accounting work for the medical centers, linking operations with the Centralized Finance Service.

You will compile cost data, oversee reconciliations of ledgers, prepare internal audit reports, and aid budgeting and resource allocation under VA handbooks and directives.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; salary posted: $74,678–$97,087 per year.

Qualifications

• Transcript must be submitted if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education.
• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.
• If using foreign education, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.

Responsabilités

• Establishes liaison between medical centers and the Centralized Finance Service (CFS) to ensure timely reporting of cost and transaction information.
• Maintains monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts and related subsidiaries for various appropriations; ensures data balances.
• Prepares internal audit reports and performs monthly/year-end accruals for proper financial statements.
• Reviews a variety of transactions to assure accuracy and uniformity of charges and accounting concepts.
• Advises program managers on regulatory requirements and financial policies through analysis and reporting.
