Hearst Television's KCRA 3 in Northern California is seeking a Features Multimedia Journalist based in Sacramento to tell longform narratives with compelling visuals across TV, digital, streaming and social platforms.

You will uncover impactful stories, pitch ideas, produce platform-optimized videos and graphics, and collaborate with the team under tight deadlines while maintaining ethical standards. This is an IBEW union position with opportunities to travel for assignments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in broadcasting or digital content production.
• Strong storytelling, writing, and script-editing skills.
• Can carry up to 30 pounds of equipment.
• Must have experience with video editing tools.
• Have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record.
• Work varied shifts as needed for story assignments.
• Must be willing to travel as needed for story assignments.
• Deep understanding of current digital trends, social media algorithms and audience engagement techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive under deadline pressure and juggle multiple priorities.
• Related military experience will be considered.
• Bilingual experience is a plus.

The Features Multimedia Journalist based in Sacramento will tell compelling longform narratives paired with compelling visuals. The ideal candidate loves to uncover impactful and engaging stories about the people and places of Northern California to connect with audiences across TV, digital, streaming and social media. You will report to the Assistant News Director. This is an IBEW Union position.

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $58,000and $70,000.The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
