Job summary

Riverside Veterinary Care on Columbus, part of NVA/Ethos, is seeking a Veterinary Technician to work closely with the veterinarian and staff to deliver high-quality care across exams, treatments, and surgeries.

The role requires certification, Fear Free certification, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinic, including handling euthanasia when necessary. Compensation includes a base hourly range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (or in progress).
• Fear Free certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinic.
• Ability to handle physical tasks and euthanasia when required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the veterinarian during examination with Fear Free restraint as needed.
• Prepares and administers medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments.
• Performs routine dental cleanings under the veterinarian's direction.
• Administers anesthesia and monitors animals' responses to anesthetics.
• Obtains radiographs with proper positioning and techniques.
• Cares for animals recovering from surgery.
• Performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces to aid diagnosis.
• Administers emergency first aid and resuscitation when needed.
• Collects, prepares, and labels samples for testing.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and materials.
• Provides correct equipment and instruments to the veterinarian.
• Fills prescriptions and labels containers.
• Prepares animals for surgery (shaving areas, IV catheters).
• Maintains clean exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Works with veterinarians to ensure efficient care.
