HNTB Corporation in North Florida seeks an experienced CEI Senior Roadway Inspector for FDOT construction projects. Based in Green Cove Springs/Jacksonville area or Gainesville, you will verify asphalt, concrete and earthwork work, review plans, and document progress to ensure contract compliance.

You’ll perform on-site material testing, maintain daily reports, and coordinate with the team to deliver quality solutions for major transportation infrastructure in the region.

Formación

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 years of construction related experience
• FDOT CEI experience in roadway construction preferred
• FDOT certifications and ability to read and interpret plans and specs

• Confirms procedures followed and materials conform to specifications
• Performs calculations and measurements of completed work using engineering inspection practices

• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced CEI Senior Roadway Inspector for current and future FDOT construction work in North Florida. FDOT Asphalt, Concrete and Earthwork experience is a must. HNTB is looking to grow our local CEI inspection team. This position will be based in either Green Cove Springs/Jacksonville or Gainesville and surrounding areas. What You'll Do

• Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents, and plans.
• Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform complicated mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 years of construction related experience. All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements

What We Prefer

• At least 4 years of verifiable FDOT CEI experience in roadway construction. This position is ideally suited for local candidates in the area above due to the nature of the work.
• FDOT certifications (CTQP Asphalt I &II, CTQP Earthwork I & II, ACI Concrete Field Technician, CTQP Concrete Technician Level 2, CTQP Drilled Shaft, CTQP Final Estimates I & II, Advanced MOT)
• Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications. Ability to work with others, take direction, and communicate verbally and in writing. Willingness to learn and also train others.
• Knowledge of FDOT Electronic Earthwork Records System (ERS) Working knowledge and ability to enter samples in FDOT’s Materials Acceptance and Certification System (MAC).
