Job summary

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking an Associate Investigator to perform inspections of FDA-regulated industries, collect samples, and document regulatory enforcement actions. This role supports public health by evaluating compliance with U.S.

laws and regulations and by reporting findings to internal and external stakeholders. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, with or without experience, and provide transcripts.

Qualifications

  • Education: a bachelor's degree or higher in quality assurance/management, data science, statistics, computer forensics, epidemiology, pharmacy, public health, engineering, food science, law or regulations, or related healthcare or science field.
  • Band W: bachelor's degree or higher with no experience; or 2 years' comparable experience in FDA-regulated field.
  • Note: applicants must submit relevant transcripts to demonstrate education.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect FDA-regulated establishments and collect samples, evaluating compliance with U.S. laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports documenting violations and supporting evidence.
  • Mentor less experienced personnel and provide stakeholder outreach and education.
  • Apply critical thinking to assess manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
