Job summary

The State of Georgia’s Department of Human Services, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS), seeks a Fatherhood Outreach Specialist 3 for a hybrid role in Valdosta. This position supports establishing and enforcing paternity and support obligations and coordinates with legal and public organizations.

Under supervision, you will manage a caseload, communicate with clients, and mentor teammates as needed. A BA or equivalent experience is preferred; strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED plus 3 years of direct job-related experience, or 2 years at the SST101 level
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 1 year relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Establishes child support obligations and ensures that such obligations are met
  • Coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial and public organizations and conducts administrative hearings
  • Communicate with clients via telephone, email correspondence and direct contact to ensure that support obligations are met
  • Manages a caseload to ensure that child support obligations are met
  • Supervises other case managers or serves as a team leader, as required
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial and public organizations.Job Description (General Summary): DCSS is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs to include but not limited to Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry and Parental Accountability Court.
