Job summary

Snohomish County 911 is seeking individuals to join a state-of-the-art dispatch center just north of Seattle. Trainees undergo extensive training to become cross-trained dispatchers, handling 9-1-1 calls and non-emergency calls with a focus on accuracy and calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• ACCESS Level II certification, or certification within six months of start of employment.
• Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification (IAED) or certification within six months.
• Current CPR certification desirable.
• Complete and pass the CommsCoach HIRE Dispatcher assessment.
• Type 40 wpm at 90% accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Take 9-1-1 calls and dispatch police, fire, and EMS.
• Operate multiple computer systems and applications.
• Provide exceptional public safety customer service under pressure.
• Support modern technology-enabled dispatch operations.
