Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh Brookings is hiring a part-time Fast & Fresh Clerk to deliver prompt, friendly customer service and operate the register in a fast-paced store environment.

The role supports customers, handles merchandise, stocks displays, and contributes to a clean, organized shopping experience. No prior education or experience is required, but you must be 18+ and ready to work in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to the products they’re looking for, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, noting requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Operates cash register accurately and scans product, reports improper cash levels, processes coupons, food stamps, cash, checks, and card transactions, and handles receipts.
• Places merchandise in bags or boxes and hands packages to customers.
• Assists with inventory, checks in deliveries, stocks shelves and displays.
• Performs cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance tasks to keep the store clean and compliant with guidelines.
• Adheres to company policies and personal hygiene and dress standards.
• Reports to work on schedule and on time.
• Orders merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Prices products for customers as necessary.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
