Hy-Vee in the United States is hiring a Fast & Fresh Clerk to provide prompt, friendly service at the front end and within the Fast & Fresh department. You will operate the cash register, assist customers, stock shelves, and help maintain store cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
• Arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; guide people and provide basic direction.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Learns customers' names and addresses them by name when possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products they're looking for, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions or requests.
• Performs tasks to enhance the shopping experience and answers the telephone promptly with friendly service.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Operates cash register accurately and handles transactions, reports cash discrepancies.
• Places merchandise in bags or boxes and gives packages to customers.
• Assists with inventory and receiving; checks in delivered merchandise.
