Job summary

CKE Restaurants, Inc. is seeking a Restaurant General Manager to direct daily Hardee’s operations, model company values, and drive sales and profitability.

You will recruit, train, and coach staff, manage schedules, monitor food safety, and ensure exceptional customer service across all shifts and locations. The role requires at least three years in restaurant ops, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage schedules to cover all day parts; travel between locations as needed.

Position Summary

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) has the overall responsibility for directing the daily operations of a Hardee’s restaurant in support of the Brand Vision, Mission, and Promise while role modeling CKE’s Core Values. The RGM ensures compliance with company standards in all areas of operations, including product preparation and delivery, customer service, facilities maintenance, and financial accountability. This role accomplishes these objectives by actively selecting, training, and coaching top talent to achieve key results in People, Customer, Sales, and Profit.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates CKE’s Core Values while building high‑performing employees through selection, training, retention, and recognition.
  • Identifies and develops a pipeline of talent through effective succession planning tools and best practices.
  • Executes the company’s performance management process consistently to ensure employees are set up for success and held accountable.
  • Reinforces and follows the “Open Door” Policy with all employees.
  • Actively monitors, demonstrates, and provides training on all job duties for each position across all shifts, including customer service, food preparation, cleaning, and stocking.
  • Ensures proper supervision of the restaurant through ongoing examination of stations and customer activities.
  • Travels between company locations to support business operations, attend meetings, and transport product and supplies as needed.
  • Partners with Human Resources to resolve employee relations activities and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local obligations.
  • Works the assigned schedule to ensure that all day parts—breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night, and weekends—are covered.
  • Drives a customer‑focused culture by resolving customer issues and coaching employees to meet or exceed service standards.
  • Coaches, drives excellence, and recognizes the restaurant team around core operational procedures using company systems.
  • Ensures that food safety standards are met through observation and follow‑up on audit results; mandates ServSafe, TAPS, or state‑approved equivalent training.
  • Ensures restaurant‑level plans and marketing initiatives are implemented; partners with the District Manager on Local Store Marketing.
  • Analyzes sales, labor, inventory, and controllables on an ongoing basis and takes corrective action to meet margin and sales targets.
  • Conducts fiscal‑period business reviews with the management team to build capability in closing performance gaps.
  • Shares best­‑practices with the team and across the district.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts; participates in meetings, conference calls, etc.
  • Takes initiative, in addition to providing customer service, to supervise or perform duties needed to keep the restaurant clean, safe, and efficient.

Work Environment
  • Fast‑paced environment using kitchen equipment in tight quarters.
Physical Demands
  • Requires constant movement in and around all restaurant areas.
  • Must stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
  • Must reach overhead, bend, stoop, and lift 20 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must work in a warm environment near grills, ovens, and vats.
  • Must work with various cleaning products.
