Job summary

Rent the Runway in New York is seeking an entrepreneurial Product Development Assistant to support the Co-Manufacturing Team, learn key processes, and provide operational support in a highly collaborative environment.

You will multitask, engage with multiple teams, and contribute to seasonal development, PLM entries, supplier coordination, and data-driven insights while growing with our fast-paced fashion platform.

Qualifications

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• 1 year related industry/internship experience is a plus.
• Proactive with collaborative working style and can excel in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example with a high standard of professionalism, interest in and up to date on fashion, and excited about Rent the Runway.
• Results and deadline-oriented with a strong sense of follow through.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for seasonal development using insights from customer needs, product performance, industry trends, and data analytics.
• Ensure initial style is created within our Product Lifecycle Management system and updated; track sustainability metrics.
• Finalize order details with Manager.
• Key all Purchase Orders and track them throughout the season.
• Catalog product attributes in a management database with emphasis on product lifetime maintenance.
• Work with external vendors/agents regarding sample status, delivery and initial costing.
• Attend fittings with manufacturers and suggest fit corrections based on wear rate and analytics.
• Project ordering to ensure timely delivery through cross-team communication.
• Partner with Accounts Payable on pricing and invoice terms.
• Execute weekly reporting and vendor performance recaps highlighting opportunities and liabilities.
• Collaborate with Merchandising and Operations to meet durability standards and inventory needs.
