Bethanyswine is seeking a Front End Specialist in the swine industry to manage farrowing operations. You will ensure proper care for sows and piglets, maintain reproductive performance, and uphold biosecurity and welfare standards.

This role involves closely working with farm managers to optimize efficiency in farrowing processes, monitoring newborn piglet health, and enforcing safety standards. The position demands physical endurance and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience in swine production, particularly in farrowing operations.
• Strong knowledge of reproductive physiology, artificial insemination, and neonatal piglet care.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Requires hands-on animal handling and manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with farrowing operations, ensuring proper sow and piglet care during labor.
• Monitor newborn piglets to ensure adequate colostrum intake.
• Perform piglet processing tasks such as tail docking and iron injections.
• Monitor sows and piglets for signs of illness and report concerns.
• Administer vaccinations and treatments to maintain herd health.
• Ensure proper sow nutrition and hydration.
• Maintain a clean farrowing and breeding environment.
• Enforce biosecurity measures to prevent disease transmission.
• Maintain accurate data on breeding dates and litter performance.
• Assist in farm audits and reporting production metrics.
