Job summary

The Ecology Center Inc. seeks a Farmers Market Market Manager (Program Manager I) to lead, set up, manage, and breakdown Ecology Center's farmers' markets.

The role includes supervision of staff and volunteers, on-site coordination of market activities, and office support on non-market days. The position averages around 34 hours per week at approximately 16 hours in market shifts plus office time, with further hours possible based on needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or three years of related work experience.
• Two years of farmers' market or closely related small business management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Competency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases on Mac.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Ecology Center farmers' markets, including setup, operations, and breakdown.
• Supervise market staff, coordinators, volunteers, and vendors onsite.
• Provide excellent customer service and merchandise assistance at markets.
• Handle cash, deposits, and token distribution with safety procedures.
• Maintain market records, logs, and post-market financial tracking.
• Coordinate with Program and Operations Managers on market plans and budgets.
• Assist in developing promotional efforts for Farmers' Markets.
• Participate in planning market tours and community outreach events.
