The Ecology Center Inc. in Berkeley seeks a Farmers Market Market Manager (Program Manager I) to lead, set up, manage, and break down Ecology Center's farmers' markets. The role provides on-site supervision of farmers, vendors, staff and volunteers, with office support on non-market days.

This 75% position averages about 34 hours weekly, with Market shifts and office work. You will coordinate with the Program Manager to plan vendor mix, layout, promotions and events while maintaining safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3 years related work experience.
• Must produce a current CA driver's license.
• Two years of farmers' market or related small business management experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ecology Center farmers' markets, lead setup and breakdown, vendor parking-in, token distribution, and staffing.
• Provide on-site supervision of market staff, including Market Coordinators, volunteers, and youth.
• Handle post-market deposits and financial tracking within 24 hours of receipt of funds; maintain cash-handling procedures.
• Coordinate with Program Manager to plan vendor mix, market layout, and promotional efforts.
• Perform general administrative duties and ensure safety and compliance with policies.
