Job summary

AgReserves, Inc. is seeking an experienced Farm Unit Manager to lead a Chico farm unit, executing crop plans and supervising leads and seasonal crews. You will drive yields, costs, and quality while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across operations.

The role requires strong field leadership, crop production expertise, and collaboration with multiple departments. Occasional extended hours and flexible shifts are expected to meet seasonal demands.

Qualifications

• College degree in agriculture or 5+ years of equivalent agricultural experience.
• Experience managing seasonal labor or crews preferred.
• Strong understanding of crop requirements, irrigation, fertility, pest/disease, and production practices.
• Basic budgeting, cost tracking, and agricultural operations knowledge.
• Experience supervising employees in agriculture with focus on productivity and safety.
• Operating knowledge of farm equipment and safe handling.

Responsibilities

• Execute crop plans to meet targets: irrigation, fertility, sanitation, and young tree care.
• Oversee pesticide and herbicide applications for cost-efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor productivity and enforce safety standards across teams.
• Report issues to management within 24 hours with recommended actions.
• Assist with budget planning and variance analysis annually.
• Train and supervise Farm Leads, Equipment Operators, and seasonal crews.
• Protect assets and collaborate with other departments on initiatives.
