Job summary

Mercantile is seeking a friendly and energetic food server to provide prompt, attentive service in a busy dining room and marketplace. You will greet guests, take orders, and deliver food and beverages with a focus on accuracy and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 months of prior serving experience, strong communication in English, and the ability to balance cash handling with high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3+ months experience in a similar role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Ability to handle payments and operate register system.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take food and beverage orders, serving promptly and accurately.
• Maintain attention to guests throughout dining experience and adhere to service standards.
• Restock and perform opening/closing sidework.
• Memorize menu items and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Ensure cleanliness of restaurant, wait station, and service areas to meet health standards.
• Process payments and balance guest checks.
