Jackson County Florida 4-H is seeking a Farm Supervisor to lead land preparation, field setup, and crop maintenance across research plots. You will supervise crew members, ensure safety training, and coordinate with labs to support harvests.
The role requires a high school diploma, pesticide license, and 3 years in agricultural operations with supervision. Health assessment is required; position is on-site with a typical 50k salary commensurate with experience.
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience working on an agricultural operation, including supervision of others. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required years of experience.
Farm Supervisor
Ensures calibration and maintenance of spray equipment.
Supervise farm crews during crop maintenance operations and ensure they are trained to fulfill tasks.
Oversight of crop production including pest control, fertilizer application, irrigation, and crop maintenance.
Assists with the coordination with labs to ensure the successful harvest of research crops.
Provides support for field days and farm tours.
Other duties as assigned (such as assist with center events, on call for center emergencies, at all hours).
$50K commensurate with experience and education

Preferred Qualifications: 5-7 years experience working on an IFAS REC center agricultural field.
